CUCNY Curated – 7th Annual Morningside Lights
THIS YEAR MORNINGSIDE LIGHTS TAKES FLIGHT, joining with The Audubon Society to recognize 2018 as the Year of the Bird. On September 8, a flock of animated and illuminated birds will fill the night sky. Carrying suitcases, these birds evoke the power and the precariousness of migration on a changing planet. Flight honors the resilience and hope of populations on the move—avian and human—and celebrates the vitality and diversity that migrations have always brought to New York.
Morningside Lights kicks off on Tuesday, September 4 and culminates in a procession on Saturday, September 8. Workshop information and registration can be found here.
Saturday, September 8, 8 p.m. Procession Begins in Morningside Park at 116th Street & Morningside Avenue If you would like to carry a lantern in the procession, rehearsals and line-up will take place in the park at 120th Street and Morningside Avenue at 7 p.m. Lanterns will be assigned first-come, first-served.
