Private tour and tech talk at the AKC Museum of the Dog (MOD). All ages are welcome!
Executive Director Alan Fausel will lead a private tour. After touring the Museum, we will join Alan in the library for an open Q&A discussing the move of the collection from Missouri back to New York and the process of opening a Museum. Discover the art and design behind curating this exhibition and hear about upcoming exhibitions to look forward to.
MOD incorporates several interactive technological components including Meet the Breeds, Dogs on the Job, and most popular, Find Your Match! We will also go behind the scenes with tech developer, Rick Bennett, to learn about the process of creating these marvels at MOD. From motion-capture technology to dogs walking on treadmills, this is a talk you don’t want to miss!
The museum, which is located a stone’s throw from the famed Grand Central terminal, boasts one of the largest collections of dog art in the world.
Optional: Following the tour, members can join us for an à la carte brunch at Bedford & Co. Bedford & Co. is located in the historic Renwick Hotel. The Renwick originally opened in 1928 and was for many years a home to artists and writers like John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Thomas Mann. Join us!
