SUMMARY:All-New Chelsea Fall Art Gallery Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join members of the Columbia Club of New York on Saturday\, October 3rd for a highly engaging art gallery walk of best shows in Chelsea galleries. Organized as part of a broader art program for our club by CUCNY member Christine Keeley\, NYC Photographer and owner of @christinekeeleystudios\, you will be led on an expertly planned\, 2-hour art gallery walk of up to 8 galleries by founder of Look@NYArt\, Efren Olivares. \nThis walk includes new solo shows by international artists\, including painting\, sculpture\, photography\, and more as available. Join us as we explore a fantastic museum-quality show of sculptures and others works by Lynda Benglis\, spanning five decades of her career. Benglis broke new ground in 1968 by pouring latex on the floor of her studio\, essentially blurring the lines between painting and sculpture. At Gagosian\, we will explore a superb Brice Marden retrospective\, including works on loan from major institutions. We will explore why Marden is viewed as a highly influential abstract artist whose work is Minimalist yet deeply humanistic. \n  \nThis walk involves reasonable walking distances within Chelsea\, of no more than 8 to 10 blocks. \n  \nAbout Your Guide\, Efren Olivares: After a successful 20-year career in pharmaceutical marketing at Pfizer\, Baxter\, and Lilly\, Efren returned to school\, reconnecting with the passion he had felt during his University of Pennsylvania Art History classes. He obtained a Master of Art in Modern and Contemporary Art from Christie’s Education. After working briefly at the auction house\, as an Associate Director at a Chelsea gallery\, Efren formed Look@NYArt and regularly takes groups on NYC gallery tours. Efren is a Museum Guide at the Museum of the City of New York\, has led tours at MoMA\, and regularly leads art gallery tours for alumni associations including the Penn Club of NY\, Columbia Club of New York\, Cornell Club of New York\, and many others. www.lookatnyart.com \n  \nAbout Christine Keeley: Christine is a leading New York Photographer and Director with extensive experience in commercial\, fashion and portrait photography.
