A Conversation with Skin-Care Guru, Peter Thomas Roth

A Conversation with Skin-Care Guru, Peter Thomas Roth

Peter Thomas Roth is a lot of things: a Penn alum, a skin care mogul, a jewelry designer, a philanthropist, and a dedicated father of two. A first-generation American born to Hungarian Holocaust survivors, Peter grew up in Manhattan, where he attended The Dalton School and spent his free time in his parents’ jewelry shop. It was there that he learned the family trade, watching his parents bring to life the jewelry designs of the renowned artists, celebrities and impresarios who would call on them. During adolescence, Peter’s struggle with his complexion – which would prove to be lifelong – inspired a new hobby: skin care.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Peter turned this hobby into a career by launching Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care in 1993. For over two decades, Peter’s state-of-the-art products have garnered countless awards across the globe by consistently delivering on Peter’s core philosophy: Breakthrough formulas. Astonishing results.

In 2016, Peter returned to the family business by launching his namesake fine jewelry collection for men and women on QVC. Inspired by childhood visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, his Ribbon and Reed collection consists of modern classics that convey a timeless elegance.
