Private Chelsea Art Galleries Tour, Networking, and Drinks
SOLD OUT!
Join members of the Columbia University Club of New York on Saturday, October 19th for a highly engaging and customized art gallery walk of some of the best Fall shows in Chelsea galleries from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Organized as part of a broader art program for our club byCUCNY member Christine Keeley, NYC Photographer and owner of @christinekeeleystudios, you will be led on an expertly planned, 2-hour art gallery walk of up to 8 galleries by founder of Look@NYArt, Efren Olivares.
We will look at and discuss some of the best Fall shows in Chelsea, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, and more, as available. You will enjoy conversations about art whether you are an advanced art lover or a beginner. Galleries may include PACE, Gagosian and Zwirner, which have locations across the world and represent some of the most important artists in Modern and Contemporary Art. We will explore late collages by master Surrealist Dorothea Tanning. We willalso walk through an installation of Jason Rhoades‘ ready-made car sculptures at Hauser & Wirth. We will discusswhat Robin Kid might be conveying in his show of recentworks Searching for America at Templon.
Given that Chelsea has the greatest concentration of galleries in the world, this walk will involve no more than 10 blocks of walking at a gradual pace. We will announce our starting point a week ahead of the tour (as it depends on the final gallery lineup).
