This event is sold out. Please contact events@columbiaclub.org with questions.
Heather Greenlee, ND, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Greenlee is trained as a naturopathic physician and an epidemiologist. Her research focuses on the use of complementary and integrative medicine and lifestyle modifications for breast cancer prevention and control. Dr. Greenlee uses observational studies and clinical trials to study what women can do, in addition to conventional treatment, to prevent breast cancer, decrease side effects of treatment, and improve prognosis. She studies how natural products, acupuncture and a range of integrative therapies affect breast cancer symptom management and prognosis. She also studies how changes in diet, physical activity, and weight loss after a breast cancer diagnosis may affect breast cancer outcomes, with a particular emphasis on minority breast cancer survivors. Dr. Greenlee completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer prevention at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, funded by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), and a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer prevention and control at Columbia University, funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). She is an active member of SWOG, an NCI Clinical Trials Cooperative Group, and currently serves as the President of the Society for Integrative Oncology.
