Host of Memories, Tales of Inevitable Happenstance with Peter Lighte
Dr. Peter Rupert Lighte , sinologist and founding chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank China, will delight the audience with his captivating personal story covering diverse cultures and multiple continents. His narrative, Host of Memories, Tales of Inevitable Happenstance, has been likened to Marcel Proust’s memories and self-discovery. Dr. Lighte’s story will take us from the drama and security of his New York childhood to living abroad in London and Beijing.
Dr. Lighte has taught Chinese history and philosophy, and he is also the author of Pieces of China. He is a calligrapher, mosaicist, and a regular participant in the Conference on World Affairs in Boulder, Colorado. In addition, Dr. Lighte is on the board of the Half the Sky Foundation and the Council on International Educational Exchange.
