Who is eligible for membership?
All Columbia University alumni, Columbia faculty, administrators, full-time graduate and undergraduate students. Families of alumni and students are also eligible for membership.
I received an advanced degree, not an undergraduate degree from Columbia, may I join?
Yes. All graduates are eligible for membership.
I attended Columbia but never received a degree, may I join?
Yes. Please contact the Membership Office at membership@columbiaclub.org or (212) 719-0380 to discuss your application.
What if I am a current Columbia undergraduate student?
You are eligible for full Columbia University Club membership. Students must be 21 years of age to become an affiliate member of the Penn Club.
I did not attend Columbia but my parent or child did, may I join?
Yes. We offer legacy memberships to children of Columbia alumni, as well as membership to parents of Columbia alumni and students. Please contact the Membership Office at membership@columbiaclub.org or (212) 719-0380 to discuss your application.
I did not attend Columbia but I work there, may I join?
Yes. Columbia faculty and administrators are eligible for Columbia University Club membership.
What are the Columbia University Club Membership Dues?
No initiation fee.
$85 – Alumni
$50 – Discounted rate for Applicants 65+ years of age, undergraduates (proof of enrollment is required),spouses, parents, CU employees and active military.
The dues listed above do not include sales tax (8.875%), which will be added to those amounts.
Access to the Penn Club clubhouse is part of the Penn Club affiliation. In order for you to have access to the Penn Club clubhouse, you must become a member of the Penn Club in addition to becoming a member of the Columbia University Club. Penn Club dues and fees can be found here.
How do I become a member of the Club?
All you need to do is choose a membership and complete the online application.
How do I pay for membership?
Payments for Club dues can be made credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover.
Can I get a separate membership card for my spouse/partner?
Yes. There is a space on the application form for spousal/partner information. Dues are based on the applicant’s age. Membership includes a separate membership card.
How do I resign from the Club?
Your membership remains active until you submit a formal written resignation to CUCNY Membership at membership@columbiaclub.org.

How do I find out about Club events?
In addition to this website, Club events are listed in a monthly newsletter emailed to each member. If you are not on our email list, please send a request to membership@columbiaclub.org to be added to the list.
Does the Club have an event reservation policy?
Yes. Club events and programs are open to Club members in good standing and their guests. Guests must be accompanied by members at all events. Members are encouraged to make advanced reservations. Ticketed events held outside the Club (including, but not limited to, theater events) are final sales and non-refundable. Event and program reservations and cancellations may be made only through the Program Office 212.719.0380 during business hours (9:00am-4:30pm), Monday through Friday.
Does the Club have an event cancellation policy?
Yes. Cancellations may be made through the Program Office, events@columbiaclub.org, during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00am -4:30pm. For paid events, cancellations must be received by 4:30pm two business days prior to the program/event so as not to incur a charge unless otherwise stated. All cancellations received after the date will be charged in full.
What is the Penn Club?
The Penn Club of New York is University of Pennsylvania’s “home away from home”. The historic landmark clubhouse, located in midtown Manhattan, features 13 floors filled with two restaurants, 39 overnight guest rooms, a business center, fitness center, catering and meeting space. It also offers an active programs calendar.
How Does the Columbia Club relate to the Penn Club?
The Columbia Club has a relationship with the Penn Club that allows Columbia Club members to join the Penn Club even though they are not affiliated with Penn schools.
Are there additional membership dues to join the Penn Club?
Yes. Membership in the Columbia Club is separate from membership in The Penn Club of New York. Certain Columbia Club events may be held at The Penn Club or other venues, but attendance at such events does not confer Penn Club membership or access privileges to any CUCNY member unless such CUCNY also is a member of The Penn Club.
How do I join the Penn Club?
If you are already a Columbia Club member, you will be asked for verification when signing up at the Penn Club. If you are not a member you must become a member prior to applying for Penn Club membership. Join Columbia Club now.
What other benefits does Penn Club offer?
The Penn Club offers beautifully appointed guest rooms, fine and casual dining, private event and banquet facilities, a fitness center, access to squash courts at the Yale Club (for a fee) and much more. Penn Club members can also take advantage of reciprocal club privileges at other top clubs around the world.
