🌳 Central Park Walking Tour & Drinks! 🍺

Join us for an enlightening stroll through Central Park.  Dive deep into Earth’s billion-year-old story through iconic landmarks, from Manhattan Schist to Glacial Striations. Professor Goldstein’s geology tour of Central Park was featured in the most recent issue of Columbia College Today

The tour will take approximately 2 hours.  After the tour, we’ll wind down with refreshing drinks at a nearby restaurant.  We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable explorer shoes.

📌 Date & Time: Sunday, October 29th at 2PM.  Sunday, November 12th at 2PM (RAIN DATE)

📍 Meeting Point: Meet at the Maine Monument in Central Park (corner near Columbus Circle).

About Professor Steven L. Goldstein: A distinguished name in the fields of geochemistry, paleoclimatology, and oceanography, Professor Goldstein is a celebrated alumnus of Columbia. His commitment to field exploration and passion for the Earth’s history make this a one-of-a-kind experience for all.

Professor Goldstein is the Higgins Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the 2022 Recipient of the Great Teacher Award presented by the Society of Columbia Graduates. He was recently appointed interim Director of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the scientific research center of the Columbia Climate School.
