The First Jewish Americans: Freedom and Culture in the New World Tour at New York Historical Society Sold Out

The First Jewish Americans: Freedom and Culture in the New World Tour at New York Historical Society

Join us for a private guided tour of The New York Historical Society’s critically acclaimed The First Jewish Americans: Freedom and Culture in the New World exhibit led by Club member and primary contributor, Leonard Milberg ‘53. The show is a collection of loans from Princeton University’s Jewish American Collection, a gift from Milberg, and Milberg’s personal collection. During the tour, Milberg will describe the struggles of Jewish settlers from Europe, South America, and the Caribbean to their arrival in New Amsterdam in 1654. Milberg will provide candid insights into the unprecedented political freedoms that the Jewish settlers gained in early 19th century New York.

After the tour, attendees are invited for a la carte drinks at Isabella’s Mediterranean-American Bistro at 359 Columbus Avenue. In the reservation booking notes, please mention if you plan to join the group at the restaurant after the tour.
