Undocumented: From Homeless Shelter to Ancient History with Dan-el Padilla Peralta
Join us for a special presentation with Dan-el Padilla Peralta ‘06, author of Undocumented: From Homeless Shelter to Ancient History. Dr. Peralta will describe his experience with the United States immigration system and how Greco-Roman texts can be put to productive use for contemporary conversations about radical politics and migration policy.
Dr. Peralta graduated summa cum laude in Classics from Princeton University and was chosen as class salutatorian. As a recipient of the Daniel M. Sachs Class of 1960 Graduating Scholarship, he completed his Ph.M. in Greek and Roman History (Classics) at Worcester College, University of Oxford. In 2014, he received his Ph.D. in Classics from Stanford University. Dr. Peralta is currently a Mellon Research Fellow and Lecturer in Classics at Columbia University. In July 2016, he will return to Princeton as an assistant professor in Classics.
